The year 2008 was a successful one for Accell Group (a bicycle company located in the Netherlands). Their electric bicycle was particularly popular, with sales increasing in 2008 by 40%. They also produce innovative bicycles in the trekking and ATB segment, which also did well during the year.
Their electric bike line did very well in the Netherlands and Germany. The total number of bicycles sold increased to 974,000 (2007: 943,000) and the average price of all bicycles sold rose to € 415 (2007: € 367) mainly thanks to the higher sales of electric bicycles.
